What I think is happening here is OP being purposefully ambiguous by asking "is it forbidden to play 2 or more chars. Multiboxers have one thing in common: they all EXPLOIT game mechanics for their own benefit, NOT "challenge" themselves as they keep trying to get you to think. Multiboxers ruin games and then try to make you think they are respectable players. It's just increasing the complexity to do simple tasks: simple tasks that you are now doing tenfold every time that you do them. Dealing with the "quirks" of a 3rd party program isn't increasing your challenge. Instead, I see them using multiboxing as a means of making the game easier, not harder. But I've never seen any of these multiboxers become top-tier raiders or PvPers before saying the game is too easy. When someone says they need a challenge, it means that the game is no longer challenging to them. They'll say the reason they do it is because they needed a challenge and it is challenging to them. Multiboxers try to convince people that what they do takes effort and is skillful. Same computer multiboxing essentially was a no from what I understood as well as scripts and bots. You also need to be able to pay attention to multiple screens/sound systems at the same time.Īlso, from what I understood, multiboxing is ok if you don't automate anything at all and actually use multiple computers to do so. If you are lazy and stop doing it for a while, you will have difficulties getting back to being able to do it. Personally controlling 4+ characters? That is probably just as difficult to do well if not more so. There might be anywhere from 100 to 500 players at a time in the area, the area could be a huge area, your spawn could be disadvantageous depending on the game and battle mode and luck (depending on how the game works). Not only are the other players going to not be in set scenarios with only set variations, they will be actively trying to counter your team, your plans, and so on. I've taken command before where the raid as a whole was failing because people didn't understand what was going on so I had to direct people to do the right thing, but overall, just let them do what they want unless it is affecting the success of the raid.Ĭontrolling 50+ players for a PvP multi-group battle? That is much harder. I've never needed someone to be in control for PvE raids. The people for multiboxing are for multiboxing in and of itself where there is no real advantage over say playing with a group of dedicated friends and if anything, is MUCH harder to do than most people realize.Ĭontrol several 24+ player raids PvE raids at the same time? Not exactly hard if everyone knows what is going on. I think the problem is the people against multiboxing here are referring to a very specific scenario where even if they weren't multiboxing, it would be against the rules. Different accounts on different PCs? No problem.

If it is NC soft allows multiboxing on 1 PC I have a problem with that because its breedign ground for further exploitation. When you start running more than one client ON ONE COMPUTER, this is where people take it a step further and bot, multiplex etc. Which is what you control with 3rd party programs that automate a keypress, you are just in charge of whether or not the program is running.

This is like saying the automated assembly lines at a automobile manufacturer isn't automated because a human is in control of when the power switch it turned on or off. While you are in control of the keypress, the program automates it to the second instance of the game. Meaning the program follows the pre-described path of automating the key you press on a different instance of the game. Using a third party program to automate keypresses is the very definition of a bot, via the word automate.

My main account is logged in for Crafting/gathering and idling in town and I play the other account to level it. This is when I quit both instances and swap computers. I have to level my second account to be able to gather/craft higher level items. I have control of both, which is why one is idle while I play the other. This is the type of multiboxing that NCSoft means. While I'm playing my actual character, which I'm in the process of doing my dailies. Any other time it just stands in town doing nothing, til I reach over a tap a movement keep to prevent it from idling out, this is in Jadestone. The one of my laptop, I have to tell it when to move, where to move, what to gather or craft. My second account is logged in on my Laptop. I have teh character than I am playing on my PC. The accepted version of multiboxing is what I am doing.
